The Turtle Beach Park concept plan
was developed with significant input from various stakeholders
including, environmental groups, surrounding neighbors, the
Siesta Key Association, local businesses and others who enjoy
and visit the park. The Parks Advisory and Recreation Council (PARC)
and the Sarasota County Commission also provided input on the
proposed improvements. The County Commission approved the
concept plan on Jan. 27, 2010. Many of these improvements
have already been completed, some are underway, and others are
planned for the future. CPH Engineers, Inc. have been selected
to design, engineer and permit future improvements for the park
which include but are not limited to: improved/enhanced parking
areas, pedestrian walkways, wayfinding/signage, handicap
accessible boardwalk, relocated playground, small pavilion with
restrooms and a designated kayak launch area.
