The Sarasota County
Law Library is a reference library available for anyone to use.
- Books cannot be checked out
from the library.
- The library has a core
collection of essential materials.
- Access is also available to
Lois Law, an online legal database, which is free.
- Two computers are available
for public use.
- Copies are 15 cents per
page.
- Staff does not offer legal
interpretation of any law.
The Sarasota County Law Library
was established Aug. 15, 1959 by a special act of the Florida
Legislature. It is a dependent special district managed by a
board of directors.

are available in south Sarasota County on the second floor of
the Robert L. Anderson Government Center, 4000 South Tamiami
Trail, Venice and in Manatee County at the Manatee County
Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. West, Bradenton.
