| (April 7, 2009) As part of their consent
agenda April 7, Sarasota County commissioners approved guidelines for
the Foreclosure Prevention Program to assist homeowners who are in
danger of losing their homes.
The guidelines under consideration will
implement the financial assistance component of the program. The program
will assist families who have a short-term financial setback and who,
with a limited amount of financial assistance, have the best ability to
remain in the home.

The guidelines will be submitted to the
city of Sarasota for approval at the April 20 meeting. Pending approval,
funding should be available thereafter.
