The
goal of Resource Management is to protect, acquire, enhance,
restore and manage natural environmental areas. The program’s
responsibilities lie primarily in two areas, land acquisition
and land management. Protected land is acquired through the
Environmentally Sensitive Lands and Neighborhood Parklands
Programs.
The proactive process of land management strives to maintain the
ecological integrity of the lands. Such efforts conserve the
County’s unique environmental heritage and preserve important
ecological functions by maintaining, and where necessary,
restoring the natural environment for future generations. Land
management tools such as feral animal control, exotic plant
removal and prescribed burning are used to achieve these
efforts.
