A new initiative using the Litter Prevention Hotline, 365-TAGS, will give citizens more power to report cigarette litter offenders. If you see someone toss a cigarette butt from a vehicle, call 365-TAGS to report the license plate number, vehicle description and the location, time and date of the incident. Free portable ashtrays are also available to encourage proper disposal of cigarette litter.

Portable Pocket Ashtrays
Keep Sarasota County Beautiful wants you to help curb cigarette butt litter by using portable ashtrays. Pocket ashtrays promote awareness of this unsightly problem and helps reduce cigarette butts on Sarasota streets, roads and beaches. Cigarette butts are the single largest source of litter in Sarasota County. Cigarette butts do not biodegrade, so please think before you flick.

Portable Automobile Ashtrays Automobile ashtrays are another tool in the fight to help curb cigarette litter. They fit in a car cup holder, are reusable and help contain smoke and odors in vehicles.
