Rock placement began on Sept.19, 2007 with the first load of bedding stone being placed on the north end of the project site. Above is the staging site. Rocks are transported from here by barge for placement around the islands.   In mid-December the largest rocks for the top layer of the breakwater were delivered to the staging site.
